EMILY Diamond is awaiting confirmation that she has a place on the start line for a 400m in Lucerne, Switzerland, on Saturday.
UK Athletics chiefs have intimated to Diamond, who finished fourth in the Olympic trials on Saturday that if she can run another fast time she will be considered for the 4×400m relay team for London.
“I spoke to Charles van Commenee and he said I am in contention but to give myself a better chance I need to run another 52 seconds time,” said Diamond.
“I am trying to get a place in the 400m in Lucerne, which is a fast track and if I can run low 52 seconds then I should have a chance, especially as Ii beat Nicola Sanders in the trials.”
Diamond has only raced the 400m five times but has brought here PB down to 52.69secs to place seventh in the UK Rankings.
