A TOTAL of 18 local runners set new personal bests in Tuesday’s British Milers’ Club meeting at the Exeter Arena.
As reported on the blog earlier this week the Bristol & West AC pair of Richard Peters (1:51.2) and Lily Owsley (2:13.8) led the way with their wins in the men’s and women’s 800m elite races respectively.
Also in the men’s race there were further PBs for B&W runners Steve Mitchell (1:52.60) and newcomer Chris Dodd (1:53.2) while Yate & District AC’s 16-year-old Brett Halliwell shattered his PB by three seconds with 1:54.4 .
In addition 13 other runners recorded PBs with the pick of the bunch being 16-year-old Bristol & West AC runner Sam Bedwell, who slashed eleven seconds off his previous best with 4:12.2. Clubmates Hobie Martin, Dan Bagnall , Matt Peters, Sam Bedwell, Zak Tobias, Luke Jacobs, and Lewis Nightingale also clocked PBs while from Yate & District AC Freddie Barton, Steve Beardwell, Anton Williams, James Skelton, Adam Wilson and Kane Lee, who improved his 1500m PB from 4:30.09 to 4:22.6, all ran quicker than ever before.
